Lakeside Center ( formerly the East Building) reopened in 1998 in  the original McCormick Place structure. It features more than  583,000 square feet of exhibit space and has been retrofitted to meet the needs of a variety of different groups in the mid-sized and growing event market.

LAKESIDE CENTER FEATURES:

  • Exhibit Space: 300,000 square feet
    • Hall D (Level 3): 300,000 sq. ft., divisible by two
  • Arie Crown Theater: America’s largest, first-class legitimate theater (Level 2 and Level 3)
    • Capacity: 4,249
  • Lakeside Ballroom: 44,754 square feet, divisible into two equally sized rooms (Level 2)
  • Meeting Rooms: 141,000 square feet, totaling 40 rooms
    • Capacity Ranges: 34 theater / 18 classroom / 24 banquet to 1,500 theater / 726 classroom / 968 banquet
  • Outdoor Terrace: Landscaped deck with cascading waterfall, overlooking Lake Michigan (Level 3)
  • Sky bridge on Level 3 connects Lakeside Center to the South and North Buildings

Whether your group is 200 people or 20,000, McCormick Place West is just the right size. The entire building was specifically designed to adapt to your needs, never feeling too big or too small, while  always promoting social interaction and comfortable surroundings.

WEST BUILDING FEATURES:

  • 61 meeting rooms all equipped with Wi-Fi and totaling 250,000 square feet of meeting space
  • First-class food service ranging from on-floor catering to fine dining and a contemporary bar
  • 13,7000-square-foot registration area with air walls, permanent office space, and flexibility for signage and equipment placement
  • Spectacular Skyline Ballroom: With over 100,000 square feet and maximum theatre-style seating for 11,500 guests, this ballroom is  one of the most impressive in the nation. But don’t let the size intimidate you! The Skyline Ballroom can be split into five sections that can be configured in 15 different ways. In fact, it’s a ballroom that fits like a glass slipper.
  • Rooftop garden that can accommodate 800 guests for a reception and 300 guests for a sit-down event
  • 36 truck berths designed for easy move-in and move-out
  • Transportation Center located in the heart of the building is linked to a dedicated busway for travel to and from downtown hotels. This busway includes electronic arrival/departure information and enough space for 16 buses to arrive/depart simultaneously.

Opened in 1996, the South Building features 840,000 square feet of exhibit space and is linked to the other two buildings by a glass-enclosed Grand Concourse. McCormick Place South features a 100-foot high ceiling, a 900-foot long walkway featuring a business center, gift shop, visitor information booth and other amenities.

MCCORMICK PLACE SOUTH FEATURES:

  • Exhibit Space: 840,000 square feet with moveable partitions (Hall A1 & Hall A2, Level 3)
    • When used in conjunction with the North Building, can span 1.2 million square feet on one level
  • Grand Ballroom: 33,000 square feet (Level 1)
    • Capacity: 2,998 theater / 1,499 classroom / 1,800 banquet
  • Vista Ballroom: 22,000 square feet with views of Lake Michigan (Level 4)
    • Capacity: 1,898 theater / 948 classroom / 1,139 banquet
  • Meeting Rooms: 156,000 square feet, totaling 43 rooms
    • Capacity Ranges: 141 theater / 70 classroom / 84 banquet to 596 theater / 297 classroom / 357 banquet
  • Dining: 16,000-square-foot food court, including a fine dining restaurant and bar (Level 2.5)
  • Transportation: Weather-protected bus arrival gates (Level 1); Metra commuter rail station (Level 2.5)
  • Sky bridge on Level 1 connects the South Building to the West Building
  • Sky bridge on Level 3 connects the South Building to the Lakeside Center
  • Two sky bridges on Level 4 connect the South Building to the North Building

The McCormick Place North addition, which was completed in 1986, features more than 700,000 square feet of exhibit space that can be used independently or in conjunction with McCormick Place South and/or Lakeside Center.

NORTH BUILDING FEATURES:

  • Exhibit Space: 705,000 square feet
    • Hall B (Level 3): 496,000 square feet; divisible by two
    • Hall C (Level 1): 209,000 square feet, divisible by two
  • Meeting Rooms: 84,603 square feet, totaling 29 rooms
    • Capacity Ranges: 70 theater / 36 classroom / 32 banquet to 666 theater / 333 classroom / 400 banquet
  • Grand Concourse Lobby: 35,836 square feet, which can be used for registration (Level 3)
  • Dining: Two full-size restaurants (Level 2)
  • Transportation: Dedicated taxi and bus loading / unloading area (Level 1)
  • Sky bridge on Level 3 connects the North Building to Lakeside Center
  • Two sky bridges on Level 4 connect the North Building to the South Building
